An Ollie’s Bargain Outlet has opened its doors on South Main Street in Bowling Green, located in the Southwood Plaza Shopping Center. 

Ollie’s is an American discount store chain known for its slogan of “Good Stuff Cheap.” The store offers reduced-price merchandise ranging from snacks to home goods. 

Store management declined to comment when asked for an interview

The opening drew attention from Bowling Green State University students. 

“I’d say the experience was good, especially considering that I went on the opening day,” said BGSU sophomore majoring in marketing, Tristan Bentley. 

Bentley praised the store’s affordability, adding, “The prices at Ollie’s are great. Their slogan is ‘Good Stuff Cheap’ for a reason. Any time I need snacks, drinks or the occasional water bottle or board game, Ollie’s is usually the first store that I check.”

Another student, James Stickler, a sophomore majoring in music education, said the store’s setup and product range stood out. 

“I like the store layout and selection. Their prices were competitive and better than a lot of stores,” Stickler said.

Sophomore majoring in music education,  Jacob Palumbo, also offered a favorable review. 

“I liked the layout, selection was okay, the experience was quite good, the pricing is very affordable.” Palumbo said, “I would shop there again because it’s cheap and a greater variety of items would be nice. Bargain stores are essential.” 

With the feedback seeming positive, the new Ollie’s appears to become a regular stop for local students and the community looking for low-cost essentials.

Ollie’s is located at 818 S. Main St. and is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
