BGSU hockey freshman left-winger Dominik Rymon was named Rookie of the Week for his efforts in Bowling Green sweep of Ferris State at home. Rymon earns his first weekly award from the CCHA after just his fifth week of competition in the NCAA.
Rymon’s first game at Ferris State is the highest scoring game for any Falcon so far this season. He scored two goals in the first period of the first game, adding two assists in the 9-5 BG win. He missed a hat trick by just inches on an empty-net try toward the end of the game, and could have been the second hat trick of the game with Noah Morneau’s three goals in the final two periods.
He then assisted Morneau’s game-opening goal in the 5-2 win on the second night, playing well defensively and earning a +3 rating through two games played.
From Karlovy Vary, Czechia, Rymon came to Bowling Green after three seasons with the Everett Silvertips in the WHL, coached for two seasons by now BG’s head coach Dennis Williams. He scored 158 points in 140 games played in Everett, now with nine points in 10 games as a Falcon.
Rymon skates with the Falcons in St. Paul, Minnesota, for their series against St. Thomas, BG looking to stay atop the conference in their final away series of 2025.
