BGSU volleyball landed two players on Mid-American Conference (MAC) Volleyball’s all-conference teams.
Falcons Avery Hobson and Jessica Andrews were each named to the All-MAC First Team, with no Falcons being named to the specialty awards and none to the All-Freshman and All-MAC Second Team.
A transfer from Duquesne after the 2024 season, Hobson leads BG in kills by over 140, tallying 363 during the regular season. She was able to add 19 aces and 41 blocks and reached 405.5 total points, the sixth highest total in the MAC.
The junior came to the Falcons looking to replace BG’s 2024 All-MAC Second Team selection, Mia Tyler. Hobson surpassed Tyler’s 2024 point total while playing five less matches and 22 less sets.
Hobson also contributed greatly to the defensive side, third on the team in digs with 195 in the regular season. The Fishers, Indiana, native’s best match was against Stephen F. Austin in Chicago, scoring 24 kills, eight digs, five total blocks, and two aces.
She was named to the Atlantic-10 All-Rookie team in 2023, not having received a first or second team recognition until this season’s All-MAC First Team award.
Andrews played in her fourth and final season with the Falcons, missing five matches at the beginning of the year due to her competition in the 2025 World Championships in Thailand. She played her first match of the season against Georgia Tech in West Lafayette, joining the team during their series against No. 15 Kansas, No. 18 Purdue, and No. 23 Georgia Tech.
The Guelph, Ontario, native played only five matches this season as a true middle blocker, switching to the right side for about 20 matches due to injuries on BG’s right side and setter. Since her switch to the pin, Andrews has played ten matches with 10+ kills and 11 overall matches with more than five total blocks.
The senior was able to reach career season highs in kills per set, aces, digs per set, and points per set, approaching highs in kills, attacks, and digs in 10 less matches played than in 2024. Previously named to the 2022 MAC All-Freshman Team and the 2022 and 2025 All-MAC Second Team, Andrews earns her first All-MAC First Team honors.
Bowling Green had five players named to All-MAC teams and the Player of the Year last season; three of them are set to return this season. Player of the year Lauryn Hovey and fellow All-MAC First Team winner Amanda Otten both missed sizable time this season due to injury, taking all but locks for All-MAC awards out of contention.
Bowling Green won their way into the MAC Tournament as a six seed, facing No. 3 Ohio in the first round of the playoff hosted in the Stroh Center.
The teams face off on Friday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m., broadcast on Falcon Radio streaming at bgfalconmedia.com.
