Bowling Green’s Quinn Emerson was named this week’s CCHA Forward of the Week following a weekend where the senior forward scored a total of four points while helping BGSU (14-6-6, 11-4-3) claim two draws against nonconference opponent Notre Dame (5-18-3, 1-13-0) of the Big 10.
During BG’s 3-3 draw against NDU on Friday night in the Fighting Irish’s Compton Family Ice Arena, Emerson contributed to all three of Bowling Green’s goals by scoring a goal and two assists in a game that would conclude with the Orange and Brown claiming the shootout victory.
On Saturday, Emerson would pick up another assist during Bowling Green’s 2-2 draw at the Slater Family Ice Arena to move his weekend total to four points.
In total, Emerson’s stat line over the weekend included one goal, three assists, four points, four shots on goal, and a blocked shot.
This past weekend performance raises Emerson’s season totals to eight goals, 21 assists and 29 points. He currently leads the Falcons in assists and points and is tied with Tyler Hotson, Noah Morneau, and Jaden Grant for the team lead in goals.
Emerson’s Forward of the Week award announcement marks the eighth CCHA weekly award claimed by a Falcon player this season and the third time a Bowling Green player has won Forward of the Week, with Morneau winning it following the first Ferris State series (Nov. 14 and 15) and Hotson claiming the award following the Ohio State series (Jan. 2 and 3).
Emerson and the Falcons will host the St. Thomas Tommies (17-8-3, 14-4-2) this weekend at the Slater Family Ice Arena on Feb. 6 and 7 as the Orange and Brown return to CCHA play.
