BGSU hockey’s center Ben Doran was named the CCHA Forward of the Week following the final week of regular-season play. He led Bowling Green in a five-point winning weekend over Michigan Tech on the road.
Doran led all scorers in game two of the series with two assists. He helped on a power-play goal by Gustav Stjernberg and the game-winning setup on Jackson Niedermayer’s overtime goal.
A native of Chesterfield, Missouri, the forward also recorded three shots on goal, a +2 rating, and a winning faceoff percentage. He also averaged over 22 minutes on the ice over the two games, the third-highest average among CCHA forwards.
The game was the junior’s eighth multipoint game of the season, and his sixth since 2026 started. Doran has nailed just five goals, but 13 assists in 2026, the team’s leading scorer since the turn of the year.
Bowling Green fell a point short of a home playoff against Michigan Tech on the road, needing six points to clinch but taking five. This results in Doran and the Falcons returning to Houghton, Michigan, to play Michigan Tech back-to-back weeks, this time in the Mason Cup quarterfinal.
