The first transfer portal addition has been announced for BSGU men’s basketball, as Trey Simmons, a 6-foot-1 guard from Frostburg State has announced his commitment to the Falcons.
Simmons is the reigning Mountain East Conference Player of the Year, leading the league in scoring with 24.2 points per game and was eighth in the league in assists with 3.2 per game.
Simmons had shooting splits of 48.3% from the field, 38% from 3-point range and 77.1% from the free-throw line last year.
An explosive offensive player, Simmons has eight games with 30 or more points, including two outings of 36 points.
He was also 12th in the conference in steals per game with 1.4 per game, 44 on the season.
Simmons chose BGSU over offers from New Mexico State, Georgia Southern, Towson and Southern Mississippi.
