BGSU men’s basketball and head coach Todd Simon have added their second player in the transfer portal—Zach Howell—a 6-foot-5 graduate transfer from Drury (Division II).
Howell was a part of the Great Lakes Valley Conference First Team, placing fifth in the league in scoring with 17.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
A knockdown shooter from behind the arc, Howell was second in 3-point percentage in the conference, knocking down 99 of 225 on 44% shooting, a mark that ranked eighth in all of Division II basketball.
Able to pour on the offense in a hurry, Howell has 20 games of 15 or more points, including three outings of more than 30 points.
Defensively, Howell ended the season 41 steals in 31 games, with his 1.3 steals per game placing 14th in the conference.
Howell chose BGSU over interest from Arkansas State, Queens, Liberty, South Dakota, Southern Mississippi and Iona.
