The Ziggys, BGSU athletics’ annual end-of-year awards show, returns for the 12th consecutive year Wednesday, April 22.
The event will be held at the Stroh Center for the second straight year, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. with the event beginning at 7 p.m.
The show is a celebration of the academic and athletic accomplishments of BGSU student-athletes.
The event will be hosted by Bowling Green men’s hockey’s Max Martin and swim & dive’s Grace Bodrock. There will also be a DJ and an orange carpet entrance, along with hors d’oeuvres and beverages.
Falcon Media Sports Network will play an integral role in the event for the third straight year, providing wall-to-wall coverage before, during and after the event. All content for the event can be found at bgfalconmedia.com/the-ziggys.
Falcon Media Sports Network had a major hand in selecting the finalists for numerous awards.
Here’s a look at the finalists for every award:
- Male Athlete of the Year: Trace Terry, Quinn Emerson and Javontae Campbell
- Female Athlete of the Year: Payton O’Malley, Kylee Cubbison and Addie Martin
- Comeback Performance of the Year: Football comeback win over Toledo, Martin return from injury and Lauren Hovey return from injury
- Moment of the Year: Hockey beats Ohio State, women’s track & field wins Outdoor MAC Championship and football beats Toledo in the Battle of I-75
- Male Freshman of the Year: Austyn Dendy, Jacob Steinman and Brayden Crampton
- Female Freshman of the Year: Rachael Hoover, Addison Kartusch and Martin
- Coach of the Year: Lou Snelling, Michelle Gardner and Chris Fox
- Male Falcon Medal of Honor: Dalton Norris, Andrew Shaffer and Blane Cleaver
- Female Medal of Honor: Jenna Lucas, Bodrock and Ashley Chevalier
- Male Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Quinn Emerson, Sam Seidel, Shaffer and Javontae Campbell
- Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Cubbison, Jessica Andrews and Bianca Staples
- Male Junior Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Breck McKinley, Mads Christensen and Travis Kenner
- Female Junior Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Kiera Bonds, Peyton Steffes and Rachael Withrow
- Male Falcon Spirit Award: Bryce Weber, Luke Krouse and Jack Blake
- Female Falcon Spirit Award: Leticia Fonseca, Emily Siesel, Faye Dubin and Macie Elzinga
