Addison Kartusch of BGSU Women’s Golf claims first place in the National Golf Invitation Tournament with a score of 209 (-7).
“She stayed steady and strong for us, like she has had all year, so, really proud of her, happy for her to get this done. Tough golfer, she is gritty and she has shown that this week,” head coach Erin Fahey said.
With this victory, Kartusch brings home the first postseason victory for the Bowling Green women’s golf program. She also broke the previous course record of 211 (-5) set by Shannyn Vogler of the University of Iowa during the 2023 NGI tournament.
During the three-day tournament, Kartusch shot a 71 (-1) on Friday, a 68 (-4) on Saturday and a 70 (-2) on Sunday. One of only two players who shot a 68 during the Tournament and the only player to stay below a 210 mark.
Junior Sammie Dolce took second on the team with a final of +16 over the weekend. McKenzie Miller and Ava O’Sullivan tied at +17 for 36th place. Macie Elzinga rounded out the Falcons’ scoring, ending tied for 39th place at +18.
