The BGSU women’s track and field team celebrated their 2025 Outdoor Mid-American Conference championship with the awarding of their championship rings.
After an opening hype video with footage of the season, head coach Lou Snelling addressed the team.
“One of the cool things to come from this moment is the lifetime achievement,” said Snelling. “This is something you have with you for the rest of your lives.”
The Falcons were then awarded their second championship ring, after previously earning them for their victory at the MAC championships during the 2024-2025 indoor season.
“It would’ve been really easy after the indoor championship to get a little complacent, but we didn’t do that,” Snelling said.
The rings commemorate a historic year for Falcon Track and Field, in which the Falcons not only won their first MAC title in 26 years, but also completed the first sweep of the indoor and outdoor titles in program history.
The recognition comes right on the edge of the Falcons being fully into the thick of the 2025-2026 indoor season.
“We [feel] like there’s a next opportunity for us,” said Snelling. The Fall has been good, just the work that’s happened…the consistency, I don’t think I could ask for a whole lot more.”
The Falcons’ quest to defend their MAC titles will continue in the Tom Wright Open at Bowling Green’s Perry Fieldhouse on Saturday, Dec. 6, beginning at noon. Falcon Media Sports Network’s Dawson Pelter will have a written recap of the meet available on bgfalconmedia.com.
