The NCAA men’s Ice Hockey transfer portal for undergraduate players officially opened on the morning of Monday, April 13, and will remain open for two weeks until Monday, April 27.
On day one of the portal being open, BGSU hockey has received its first addition from the portal in junior defenseman Evan Bushy.
Bushy has spent the past three seasons with CCHA foe Lake Superior State and recorded three goals and 10 assists across 36 games while serving as an alternate captain in the Lakers’ most recent season. Bushy also recorded 70 blocked shots on the campaign, which was the third most in the CCHA last season.
Across his college career in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Bushy skated in 106 games and scored four goals and 38 assists for 42 career points while becoming known for his offensive and defensive abilities.
The Thief River Falls, Minnesota native will be entering his senior season with one year of eligibility remaining with the Falcons next season.
Bushy marks Bowling Green’s first addition from the transfer portal this season after it was previously announced that four Falcons had entered the transfer portal earlier in the day.
