Lonergan joins Brown out of transfer portal

Bowling Green, OH – Falcons freshman defenseman Brian Lonergan(4) skating away from a scuffle in front the bench at the Slater Family Ice Arena in Bowling Green, Ohio.

The NCAA men’s Ice Hockey transfer portal for undergraduate players officially opened on the morning of Monday, April 13, and will remain open for two weeks until Monday, April 27.

After initially entering the portal on April 13, freshman defenseman Brian Lonergan has committed to Brown University of the ECAC.

In his lone season in the Orange and Brown, Lonergan skated in four games and recorded two shots on goal. Before his season in Bowling Green, the Montvale, New Jersey native scored four goals and 21 assists across 111 career games in the United States Hockey League (USHL) and helped the Fargo Force capture a Clark Cup Championship in 2024.

The Brown Bears finished in last place in the ECAC last season after accumulating a 5-24-2 record and a 4-16-2 record in conference play.
