Citizens of Wood County can now utilize a new and improved emergency notification system providing alerts for weather emergencies, road closures, public safety alerts and more.

CodeRED, Wood County’s previous emergency alert system, has been retired and replaced by Wood County Alert, a platform for important updates regarding issues such as weather and public safety via text, phone call, email or mobile app.

Bowling Green State University students, both on and off campus, may want to take advantage of this free tool to plan for severe weather or road detours.

The setup is simple, just requiring a phone number and email address.

To create an account for this notification system, visit their website or download the app titled “Public Safety by Everbridge.”

Previous users of the CodeRED system must create a new account, as they do not carry over. The account can be deleted and notifications can be stopped at that same link.
