The Big 10’s Michigan Wolverines announced their non-conference slate for the 2025-26 season on April 28 via Twitter/X.
Among the teams listed is BGSU hockey, which will face the Wolverines in a home-and-home series on Oct. 2 and 3 during what is traditionally the opening weekend of college hockey.
The series will see the Falcons travel to Ann Arbor on Friday to play at Michigan’s Yost Ice Arena before returning home to the Slater Family Ice Arena on Saturday.
This will be the first meeting between the Falcons and Wolverines since Jan. 1, 2018, when the Falcons claimed a 6-4 victory in the opening game of the Great Lakes Invitational.
Former CCHA conference foes, BG and Michigan, have previously faced off 122 times, with the Wolverines leading the all-time series with a record of 82-37-3 against the Falcons.
The Falcons are coming off an 18-11-7 season that ended in the first round of the CCHA Mason Cup playoffs.
Michigan put together a 31-8-1 record last season while claiming the Big 10 Conference Championship before having their season come to an end via a 4-3 double overtime loss to eventual National Champions Denver in the Frozen Four.
BGSU has yet to officially announce its complete schedule for next season.
