Thursday’s rainy skies cleared in time for the university to welcome this year’s freshmen class with Convocation followed by the Flock the Block event.

According to the university, about 3,550 first-time students make up the Class of 2027, representing the second-largest class since 2016 and the largest since the global COVID-19 pandemic. The university also reports the incoming class will arrive highest grade point average in University history at 3.68.

Programming for the incoming class continues Friday and classes begin for all students Monday, August 21.
