BGSU softball’s redshirt freshman third baseman Addie Martin was announced as a member of the All-MAC Freshman Team on Tuesday morning, making her the second Falcon to win the award in as many years.
After suffering an injury and missing all but 10 games in 2024, Martin rebounded to hit .338 in 52 games and 160 at bats. Martin’s 13 home runs tied for the fourth most in the MAC, and her OPS of 1.060 mark put her fifth best in the conference category.
The Dover, Ohio native was also third in the MAC with a .906 slugging percentage, fourth with 105 total bases, seventh with 43 runs scored, ninth with 15 stolen bases, and sixth with nine hit by pitches.
Martin saw success on both the offensive and defensive fronts, earning 85 putouts with 38 games at third base and 14 at shortstop. Her .925 fielding percentage was better than any player at either position to earn a spot on the All-MAC Freshman Team and the All-MAC Second Team.
Martin was the lone Falcon to earn a MAC award, but she is the second Falcon in the last two years to make the All-MAC Freshman Team, joining outfielder Aaralyn Nogay, who made the team in 2024 before transferring to Kent State.
