Bowling Green softball sophomore catcher Ava McKee has announced she has entered the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining.
In a public announcement on her Twitter/X account, McKee stated:
“After much thought and consideration, I have decided to enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining,” McKee wrote. “I am grateful for my time at BGSU, but excited to see what the future holds.”
A native of Pataskala, Ohio, McKee spent two seasons with the Falcons.
During the 2026 season, McKee appeared in and started 11 games, with every start coming behind the plate. She batted .238 with four RBIs, six walks and a .429 on-base percentage across 21 at-bats.
As a freshman in 2025, McKee earned Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors after appearing in 34 games and making 32 starts. She hit .233 with 21 hits, 10 runs scoredand 14 RBIs.
McKee also became a steady contributor during Mid-American Conference play in her freshman campaign, starting 25 conference games while batting .247. She ranked fourth on the team in both on-base percentage (.353) and RBIs (10) in MAC action.
