After helping the Falcons to an undefeated Mid-American Conference (MAC) record of 4-0, senior middle blocker Jessica Andrews has been named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week.
The weekly award is Andrews’ seventh of her career, but is her first non-Defensive Player of the Week. It is also her first honor of the 2025 season.
The middle blocker is the fifth different Falcon to earn a player of the week award this season in the Mid-American Conference, and the third to earn Offensive Player of the Week.
Over the weekend, in senior right side Lauryn Hovey’s absence, Andrews took over her role as starting right side, and tied for the most kills on the team against Eastern Michigan with 16.
Against Central Michigan, Andrews tallied eight more kills, for a total of 24 through eight total sets.
What really stood out was her efficiency, however. On Friday, facing off against EMU, she went 16 for 30, and on Saturday, against CMU, she was 8-12, giving her a weekend hitting percentage of .476.
Next up on the schedule for the Orange and Brown is the Toledo Rockets on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. in Savage Arena. After that, the Falcons will return to the Stroh for a two-match series against NIU on Thursday and Friday.
