BGSU men’s basketball guard Javontae Campbell has been named the MAC-Co Player of the Week, alongside Akron’s Tavari Johnson.
Campbell scored 17 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out five assists in BG’s 82-66 upset win over Kansas State, the Falcons’ first Power-4 win in 20 years. Campbell led the Falcons in scoring in the Orange and Brown’s loss against Utah State with 24 points, his fourth 20-point scoring game of the season.
The 6-2 senior guard finished his week with a packed stat sheet in BG’s dominating 131-50 win over Aquinas, which helped the Falcons improve to 7-3 on the year, finishing his day with seven points, nine assists, six steals (increasing his season total to 37), and two blocks.
Campbell was previously named the MAC Player of the Week on Nov. 10 this season and has now been named the winner of the award four times in his time with the Orange and Brown.
