BGSU women’s tennis (7-10, 1-3) traveled to Kalamazoo to face the Western Michigan Broncos (11-6, 2-2). The Falcons would fall to the Broncos with a final score of 5-2, with the Falcons now losing three straight matches.
The matchup started with doubles play, where Tia Clemens and Qianyu Liu would take a 6-3 win over the Broncos.
Konstantina Adamopoulou and Leticia Fonseca gave the Falcons a second win in doubles play with a 6-4 win.
In singles play, the Falcons would lose overall with a 5-1 score, and that is where the Broncos made their comeback in the matchup.
The Falcons would only win in singles competition as Libby Blair would take a 6-4 victory. Clemens only won one set against Lola Glantz as she lost 6-0 and 6-1.
Sienna Osborn took down Adamopoulou with scores of 6-4 in two straight sets.
Liu and Audrey Smitek were in the third set of their match before Liu was unable to finish the set.
There would be two who fell in three sets. Kiera Taylor fell to Frida Weijerman in three sets with scores of 3-6, 6-4, and 6-1.
Fonseca also fell to Polina Khotko in three sets with a score of 4-6, 6-2, 1-6.
The Falcons are back in action on Friday, April 10, as they return home to face the Buffalo Bulls (18-4, 5-0). Buffalo has won the last eight meetings between the two teams, with the last BGSU win coming during the 2020-21 season.
