Falcon track and field athletes DaMya Barker (100-meter hurdles) and Bianca Staples (triple jump).

Two Falcons earned the right to compete Friday at the USA Track & Field Under-20 Championship.

DaMya Barker qualified in the 100 hurdles and Bianca Staples qualified in the triple jump.

Barker, a freshman out of Akron Butchel, ran the fifth-fastest 60 hurdles time in school history at the Mid-American Conference Championships during the indoor season and recorded the 10th-fastest time in school history in the 100 hurdles during the outdoor season at the Jesse Owens Classic.

Staples, a freshman from Valley Central High School in Montgomery, N.Y., notched a personal best in the triple jump (12.53 meters) at the MAC Championship, earning her a fourth-place finish. It ranks as the third-longest triple jump good in program history.

The USATF U20 Championships will be held at historic Hayward Field (which appeared in the movie in Animal House) in Eugene, Oregon.

Barker is scheduled to race at 5:46 p.m. ET Friday, while Staples is set to take her jumps at 6 p.m. ET.

Live video and results will be accessible at the athletics website.
