Five distance Falcons headed to Azusa, California, for the BGSU women’s track and field team to participate in the Bryan Clay Invitational, which is one of the biggest track meets in the country. With over 4,000+ people competing and over 400 universities attending, runners were placed in the same events but with different names to compete with similar skill levels.
Starting, the three-day meet was Marissa Boone in the 800m open A with a finish of 38th and a time of 2:11.11. Not only did she pr, but she is now number nine in the top 10 times list for Bowling Green. Reese Reaman, who also ran the 800m invite, finished 133rd in 2:15.34.
Moving on to the 1500m open B, Boone was also Boone, with a time of 4:40.40, placed 102nd, and set a new personal record. Kylee Cubbison is also running the 1500m, but in the invite had an impressive finish of ninth with a time of 4:15.16, and also had a new personal record.
Racheal Hoover followed with a personal-best 4:16.91 to place 19th in the 1500 invite. Reaman also competed in the event, finishing 113th in 4:34.03.
Regina Rose capped the meet in the 10,000 meters open A, placing seventh with a personal-best time of 34:48.96. The mark ranks No. 4 in program history. Rose was also scheduled to compete in the 5,000 but did not run.
Bowling Green returns to action next week at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky.
