Mel Brodt Open: Falcons finish fifth in both men’s, women’s races

BGSU Cross Country held their first home meet of the season on Friday for the Mel Brodt Open. 

In the women’s race, the Falcons finished fifth out of 10 competing teams. Leading the way was Kylee Cubbison, who finished 13th overall with a time of 21:41.50. Following Cubbison was Kailee Perry, who placed 23rd with a time of 22:07.00.

The men’s team finished fifth place out of eight teams. Top finishers for the men included Heriberto Alvarez, whose time of 25:59.60 was good for a 25th place finish, as well as Anthony Sweet, who took 32nd place in a time of 26:13.30. 

The Falcons are back in action in two weeks, when both teams travel to Kentucky on Saturday, Sept. 30 for the Louisville Classic.
