BGSU women’s soccer has released the upcoming schedule for the 2025 season via Instagram on Monday evening, announcing an eleven-week regular season slate that features nine matches on the road and 11 at home.
The Falcons will host two opponents from power-four conferences at Cochrane Stadium, taking on the Big Ten’s Illinois Fighting Illini on Aug. 17 ahead of a battle with the Cincinnati Bearcats of the Big 12 two weeks later on Aug. 31.
After starting the season with a lone exhibition match on the road against Vanderbilt, BG opens up the season with a three-game homestand, hosting Oakland for the home opener on Aug. 14 before the match with Illinois and a Thursday matchup with Cleveland State on Aug. 21.
The Falcons head on the road to take on Detroit Mercy before returning home for the matchup with the Bearcats and begin September with a road trip to Pennsylvania to face the Robert Morris Colonials.
Four of the seven non-conference games played by the Falcons are against Horizon League opponents, a conference against which BG was 2-0-1 in 2024.
Duquesne comes to town as the Falcons wrap up non-conference play at home on Sept. 7 ahead of the 12-game Mid-American Conference (MAC) schedule.
The Golden Flashes will serve as the conference opener in a match at Cochrane Stadium on Sept. 14 as well as the first of six MAC home games. BG will host the reigning MAC champion Western Michigan Broncos as well as Central Michigan, Miami (OH), Ball State, and Akron in 2025, with the Zips arriving at BG on Oct. 26 for the home finale.
The away slate begins with a matchup against the Ohio Bobcats on Sept. 18, and the Battle of I-75 will serve as the second conference away game on the schedule, taking place at Paul Hotmer Field on Oct. 2.
Bowling Green will end the season with many miles on the road in conference play, traveling for matchups against Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, Buffalo, and a season-concluding match against the UMass Minutemen, who return to the MAC for the first time since 2015.
The 11 matches BG will play at Cochrane Stadium are three more than in 2024 and the most since the squad’s conference-winning season in 2021.
