University of South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley spoke to the media following BGSU women’s basketball’s 2025 Tipoff Dinner at the Champions Court inside Schmidthorst Pavilion at the Stroh Center.
Staley served as the guest speaker for the event. She is a three-time Olympic gold medalist as a player and a three-time national champion as a head coach.
Bowling Green head coach Fred Chmiel coached Dawn Staley during their time in the WNBA. Chmiel was then hired by Staley to be an assistant at Temple from 2006 to 2008, then at South Carolina from 2015 to 2023.
Chmiel will return to South Carolina when the Falcons play the Gamecocks on Friday, Nov. 7, at Colonial Life Arena.
