BGSU men’s soccer fell to The Ohio State Buckeyes with a final score of 3-2 in their final home game of the College Spring League.
Tyson McCoy would be the catalyst for the Falcons’ offense as he scored his first collegiate brace, scoring two unanswered goals for BGSU that tied the game.
The sophomore has been off to a hot start in the spring league, and after limited playing time off the bench during the 2025 season, McCoy is looking to make his mark in the upcoming season.
“He is just so hungry; if you are not on top of your game, he is going to give you fits,” head coach Eric Nichols said.
Having a player who always plays at 100% for the Falcons is a great thing going forward as they look to continue to develop the team.
“I think it’s tenacity, buzzing around picking up second chances. He could have had another one, but the keeper made an incredible save. He is dangerous,” Nichols said.
Getting players like McCoy these types of looks in spring league games with a high intensity have great outcomes for the team and the players in overall development for the upcoming season.
“The idea behind this is the most competitive games possible. It’s still about developing the team in the spring, but it’s a lot easier to develop a team when the situations are real and meaningful,” coach Nichols said.
With three goals during spring league play, McCoy has only scratched the surface of what he is capable of with the Falcons.
The Falcons are back in action on Saturday, April 4, as they travel to Akron, Ohio, to face the Zips in the final round of robin play in the College Spring League.
