Former BGSU women’s basketball guard Johnea Donahue has announced her transfer to Georgetown University in the Big East, she announced on Instagram Friday.
Donahue, the reigning Mid-American Conference (MAC) Defensive Player of the Year, played two years with the Falcons, averaging 11.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and per game this past season.
The Fort Wayne, Indiana, native was named to the MAC’s All-Defensive Team for the second-straight season and was an All-MAC Honorable Mention.
Donahue finished this past season with 118 steals, which broke a BGSU program record and marked the third-highest single-season total in MAC history.
In both seasons with the Orange and Brown, Donahue led the MAC in steals. During her freshman campaign, she was named to the All-MAC Freshman Team and the All-Defensive Team.
Georgetown finished the 2025-2026 season 14-17 and 6-14 in the Big East. Losing in the second round of the Big East Championship tournament to eventual national runner-ups UConn.
Donahue becomes the second Falcon to officially leave Bowling Green, following Sofia Moschen, who transferred to UTEP.
