After initially entering the transfer portal on April 13, former BGSU Hockey freshman forward Tanner Scott will be joining the Canadian USports ranks with Toronto Metro University of the Ontario University Athletics conference (OUA).
During his freshman campaign with the Orange and Brown, Scott appeared in four games and recorded a shot on goal.
While they didn’t count towards his official statistics, Scott also appeared in Bowling Green’s exhibition games against Robert Morris University and USA Hockey National Team Development Program, where the Sherwood Park, Alberta native recorded a total of two shots and scored a goal against RMU.
Prior to his time in BG, Scott spent five seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL). The forward scored 62 goals and 100 assists for 162 career points in 278 career games playing for the Victoria Royals and the Saskatoon Blades.
In 2025-26, the Toronto Metropolitan Bold finished with a 21-13-0 record, ending with a 4-3 overtime loss to the Queens University Gaels in the OUA Bronze Medal Game.
With Scott joining the Bold, junior defenseman Rihards Simanovics is the only remaining Falcon who entered the transfer portal yet to announce a destination for next season. Falcon goaltender Cole Moore and defenseman Brian Lonergan have also committed to other schools after entering the portal.
