The third edition of the MAC-Sun Belt challenge matchups has been officially announced for both the BGSU men’s and women’s basketball teams on Nov. 3.
BGSU men’s basketball will face Texas State at the Stroh Center, while BGSU women’s basketball will travel to the Cajundome to take on Louisiana.
“Texas State will be a great game to open the season,” said men’s basketball head coach Todd Simon. “We look forward to packing the Stroh on opening night.”
Both the men’s and women’s teams each hold a 2-2 record in the MAC-SBC Challenge, with the women winning both matchups last season.
“A trip to Louisiana Lafayette to play a very competitive and well-coached team is one of those experiences,” said women’s basketball head coach Fred Chmiel. “We look forward to the challenge of traveling and playing the Ragin’ Cajuns in Louisiana.”
Both matchups will take place on Nov. 3; it will be the first-ever meeting for both the men’s and women’s teams against their respective opponents.
The second half of the MAC-Sun Belt challenge will take place in early February, with the matchups to be announced in January.
