Wednesday was National Signing Day, and BGSU’s baseball team announced the addition of six signees. All six players signed were ranked as top-75 overall players in their home state by Prep Baseball Report (PBR).
Head coach Kyle Hallock and the Falcons welcome two right-handed pitchers, two catchers, an infielder and a two-way player into the program.
“We are fortunate to have identified and secured another group of talented student athletes that fit the Bowling Green Baseball profile,” Hallock said. “They all approach the game with the work ethic necessary to be successful in our program and maintain our championship standards.”
Jack Andes — Outfielder/right-handed pitcher
The North Canton, Ohio, native was a First Team All-Ohio selection in 2025 after having five saves on the mound, along with a .323 batting average. During his time at Hoover High School, the 5-foot-11 two-way player received two First Team All-District honors and two First Team All-League selections. Andes currently ranks as the No. 7 outfielder in the state of Ohio by PBR.
Carson Balls: Catcher/utility
The Sanford, Florida, native finds himself trading in warmth for wind as the only non-Michigan or Ohio signee. Balls was a team caption for Orangewood Christian High School, which helped him achieve All-District and All-Region honors last season. The 5-foot 10 catcher also kept a batting average of at least .300 in each of his seasons for the Rams. Balls is not the first family member to find themselves as a Falcon, as both his parents attended BGSU.
Drew Jones: Infielder
Jones joins the Falcons with a dedicated resume, taking Lakewood High School to a regional semifinal appearance and posting a 23-8 record during the 2025 season. The 6-foot-3 infielder was named First-Team All-State after helping the Rangers to these accolades. Jones currently ranks as the No. 2 third baseman and No. 40 overall in the state of Ohio by PBR.
Jaden Saavedra: Catcher
The 5-foot-9 catcher helped lead South Lyon East to a district semifinals appearance in 2024. The South Lyon, Michigan, native was named All-Conference from his efforts as team captain for the Cougars in 2024. Saavedra currently ranks as the No. 2 catcher and No. 29 overall in the state of Michigan by Prep Baseball Report.
Harrison Schneider: Right-handed pitcher
The Amherst, Ohio, native was named First Team All-Ohio and Lorain County Player of the Year. As a captain, Schneider helped the Comets to conference, district and regional titles, and landing as the state runner-up. On the mound, the 6-foot-4 right-handed pitcher dominated in 2025, finishing with a 9-0 record and striking out 69 batters over a total of 60.2 innings pitched, while maintaining a 1.38 ERA. Schneider currently ranks as the No. 26 overall prospect in the state of Ohio by PBR.
Jackson Urenovitch: Right-handed pitcher
Urenovitch helped Anthony Wayne High School to a league title, a district championship, a regional title and a Division II state championship. The 6-foot-3 right-handed pitcher earned an All-District honor for his efforts. Urenovitch comes from a family of athletes, as his brother, Grant, played football at Kent State, and his father, Joseph, played basketball at West Chester.
As all the future Falcons await their time to arrive to BGSU, the 2026 season is right around the corner for Hallock and the Falcons, as the first regular season game takes place in Atlanta, Georgia, with Bowling Green taking on Georgia Tech on Feb. 13.
