The awards keep coming for senior infielder Gunner Antillon, who added two more accolades to his trophy case following a two-home run week with 14 hits.
Antillon earned the Brooks Wallace Award Player of the Week, which goes to the nation’s best shortstop of the week and is given out by the College Baseball Foundation.
The Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., native also earned a nod from The National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) as one of four Dick Howser Trophy National Players of the Week.
With both national honors, Antillon notches his first national recognitions of his college baseball career, which included a two-year stint at Riverside City College, in 2021-2022, a one-year stay at New Mexico State, in 2023, and a season with Cal Baptist, in 2024.
The shortstop also earned the MAC Player of the Week award on April 21st with a 14-hit week, through 20 at-bats with 12 RBIs and five doubles that resulted in a .700 batting average.
Against Michigan on April 22, the senior recorded one hit in four at bats in a 9-2 loss to the Wolverines.
