The BGSU women’s cross-country team finished in first place at the Falcon Invitational, which took place at the Mel Brodt Cross Country Course Friday evening.
The Falcons’ first-place finish came from a team collective score of 16 points, which was 36 fewer points than the second-place finish of Central Michigan.
Finishing first among the field was BGSU senior Kylee Cubbison with a time of 20:35, marking the third meet in a row that the veteran competitor has led the Falcons.
Cubbison has been a focal point for the team so far this season, from both a performance and a leadership perspective, something that head coach Lou Snelling takes notice of.
“She’s just the grinder, she’s the lead by example kid,” said Snelling. “She’s done all of the little things for four years now, and it’s added up.”
The meet also saw two other Falcons finish in the top five. Junior Rachael Withrow finished in third place with a time of 20:52, and Sophomore Lexi Panning finished fifth place with a time of 21:11.
Rounding out the Orange and Brown scoring runners was Senior Regina Rose at sixth place with a time of 21:15, along with a ninth-place finish from Sophomore Rachael Hoover with a time of 21:43.

The next stop for the Falcons will be a big one as they head to the Audubon Cross Country Course in Amherst, N.Y, for the MAC championship meet on Nov 1.
