BGSU women’s golf wrapped up its fall season with another steady showing, tying for fifth at the Powercat Invitational hosted by Kansas State. The Falcons finished with a team score of 939 (+75) at Colbert Hills Golf Club.
Sophomore Addison Kartusch led the Falcons once again, finishing tied for ninth at 227 (+11) after rounds of 74, 76, and 77. Senior Ava O’Sullivan shot a 232 (+16, 78-76-78) and tied for 16th.
Sophomore Macie Elzinga bookended her tournament with strong rounds of 74 and 74 to finish at 234 (+18, 86 in 2nd round), while junior Sammie Dolce (245, +29, ) and sophomore Clare Yeazell (272, +56) rounded out the lineup.
BG ranked fourth in total pars (148) and finished in the upper half of the field in par-3 scoring average (3.46) and par-4 scoring (4.44). The Falcons recorded 21 total birdies, led by Elzinga, Ava O’Sullivan and Addison Kartusch, who each tallied multiple birdies in every round.
Host Kansas State claimed the tournament title at +13, followed by Cincinnati (+40) and Wichita State (+61). Bowling Green’s fifth-place finish capped a consistent fall campaign that included four top-five finishes and a win.
The Falcons look ahead to their spring season, where they’ll play their Mid-American Conference schedule and beyond.
