The BGSU women’s track and field team opened its indoor season at home in the Tom Wright Open against Ball State and Cleveland State at the Perry Fieldhouse. The reigning indoor and outdoor MAC champions are hoping to repeat once again.
In the 300-meter hurdles, senior Kiersten Franklin and sophomore Reagan Campbell finished in first and second, respectively, with times of 39.68 and 40.51 seconds.
During the 60-meter hurdles, senior Morgan Patterson finished in first with a time of 8.46 seconds.
In the long jump, Bowling Green claimed the top four spots as seniors Sabrina Imes and Morgan Patterson got first and second, junior Kiera Bonds claimed third, and senior Bianca Staples claimed fourth place.
Similar results came in the triple jump as Staples and Imes finished in first and second, while Bonds finished fourth.
In the shot put, sophomore Sierra Brinson took home first place out of 10 individuals who participated in the event. Her best throw totaled 14.04 meters.
In the 4×400-meter relay, the A team came in first out of three total teams.
The women’s track team’s next meet will not come until 2026 as they will be traveling to Mount Pleasant, Michigan, to compete in the Jack Skoog Open at Central Michigan’s Indoor Athletic Complex on Jan. 16, 2026.
