BGSU gymnastics (8-5, 1-4) lost to the Central Michigan Chippewas (9-1, 4-0) 195.925 to 193.625 on Sunday afternoon. The loss continues a losing streak that has persisted since 2018, when the Falcons edged out their smallest margin of victory in the history of the matchup, winning 195.400 to 195.375.
Madison Coburn and Megan Dzialo both had the third best overall score in the vault, with 9.676, but due to the number of ties, their place was only a tie for 6th.
Addie Tandeski’s uneven bars mark led the way for the Falcons with a 9.800, as CMU placed the top 5 scorers.
Balance Beam yielded the best result for the Falcons, as Cassie Bergin came in second with a 9.775 score.
Kayla Shaw’s floor routine resulted in a 9.850 score, which was enough to tie for third place.
In the All-Around scoring, Central Michigan senior and former Olympian Luciana Alvarado-Reid took home the title with a 39.375 mark.
The Falcons return to action on Sunday, March 1st, when they travel to Kent, OH, to take on the Kent State Golden Flashes in a dual meet that starts at 1 p.m.
