BGSU gymnastics’ sophomore Kayla Shaw earned All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) Second Team honors for her floor exercise performances during the 2026 season.
Shaw has played a key role in the recent success that the Falcons’ gymnastics team has had this season. The Brampton, Ontario native has accumulated six first-place wins, seven second-place overall, and seven third-place overall performances.
In the most recent meet against Centenary College, Shaw won both the beam and floor events to help propel the Falcons to a victory, scoring a 9.850 on the beam and a 9.875 on the floor.
In her sophomore campaign, Shaw has competed in at least two events in all 11 meets. The most notable being her career-high of 9.900 on the floor against Northern Illinois that sparked the Falcons’ first MAC win since 2022.
The All-MAC teams are determined based on individual National Qualifying Event scores (NQS). Shaw has an NQS of 9.855 on the floor and ranks third overall in the conference for the floor exercise. She also currently ranks 19th in the beam category, displaying her multiple skills at the highest level.
Shaw and the rest of the Falcons are set to take on the MAC Championships at the Stroh Center on Saturday, March 21, at 2 p.m.
