BGSU women’s tennis (6-7) (0-1) fell to the Boston College Eagles (7-6) (0-4) by a final team score of 6-1. The loss marks the fourth straight for BGSU, continuing a difficult time on the road.
Singles Struggles
Bowling Green stumbled during the singles matches, only finding victory from senior Leticia Fonseca, a win that was by default after only one set was played.
Continuing with difficulty for the Orange and Brown, there was trouble early on in each set, as out of the five singles matches, BG lost. Not a single one went to three sets, meaning Bowling Green failed to win a single set during the day.
Only two Falcons would score five games in a set, being freshman Kiera Taylor and junior Qianyu Liu, where Taylor scored six and Liu five.
Double Troubles
Bowling Green lost two out of three of the matches in the doubles, being shut out in the third match of the day.
The second match in double play is where Bowling Green kept it close in doubles competition, with junior Libby Blair and Fonseca tying the match. Boston College scored five with junior Tola Glowacka and freshman Bella Camacho.
The third match resulted in a worse outcome for The Orange and Brown with a clean 6-0 sweep for Boston College. Led by senior Natalie Eordekian and freshman Olivia Cutone, the BCU Eagles fly away with victory.
The Falcons head home to the Perrysburg Tennis Center to face the Eastern Michigan Eagles on March 20 at 1 p.m.
