BGSU men’s golf traveled to Grove City to take part in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship. The Falcons finished seventh in the event scoring, 910 (+46) placing them ahead of Ohio and Central Michigan.
“We played a lot of great golf this week, but the final round certainly did not go as we hoped. Evan played outstanding from start to finish, recording the highest individual Falcon finish in many years,” said head coach John Powers. “We have a very important off-season in front of us to prepare for higher finishes in the future.”
Evan Johnson led the Falcons over the three-day event with a 215 (-1) with totals of 71,69,75, landing him tied for sixth place in the event. Johnson also recorded 11 birdies which tied him for eight.
Not far behind him was senior Darin Hudak who finished tied for 26 with a score of 225 (+9). He also placed inside the top 30 alongside Johnson.
Fellow senior Luke Evans rounded out the Falcon’s top three with scores of 75,72,81 for a total of 228 (+12) and tied for 31.

Ultimately it would be the Kent State Golden Flashes who won the MAC Championship with a score of 854 (-10).
