BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – BGSU women’s golf Addison Kartusch has been named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Golfer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. It marks the first such honor of her career.
Kartusch, a sophomore from Winnipeg, Manitoba, earned the award after a record-setting performance at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational on Aug. 31 and Sept 1. She shot a 205 over three rounds, finishing 11-under par to win the individual title—five strokes better than the mark set by Susy Grunden in 2010-11.
Her score set both a tournament record at A-Ga-Ming and a program record for the lowest 54-hole score in school history.
She carded a 65 to finish 7-under, the best 18-hole score ever recorded in program history, in the second round. The record was previously held by Bailey Arnold during the 2013-14 season. She led BG to the team championship, with the Falcons posting a program-best 873 in 54 holes.
The record was previously held by Bailey Arnold during the 2013-14 season. Kartusch tallied 13 birdies across.
