The BGSU swim and dive (6-0) defeated Miami (OH) University 131-112 in their return home Saturday Afternoon.
This win for the Falcons marks the first time since 2022 that the swim and dive team has won a conference dual match.
“The ladies believed in themselves and defended our home pool,” said head coach Tanner Barton. “It was a true team effort and a testament to the work this staff and these ladies have been putting in behind the scenes.”
Bowling Green started off the day with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. This win came off the performance of Freshman Lauren Jablonski, sophomore Karina Solera, sophomore Samia Becdach, and senior Emily McNicol, who together recorded a time of 1:43.50.
Becdach would continue to show her skill throughout the day, taking first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.52 as well as a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.29.
Jablonski’s success would also translate later in the event, with her finishing first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.83.
On the diving side of things, the Falcons saw victory with graduate student Elise Snyder finishing first in the one-meter diving event with a score of 266.10. Junior Natalia Mayorga also brought BGSU victory points, placing first in the three-meter diving with a score of 310.05.
This win for the Falcons extends their undefeated record in invitationals to 6-0 on the young season.
