Bowling Green gymnastics competed in the SEMO Quad-Meet on Friday in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, along with Simpson College, Fisk University and Southeast Missouri State University, the host school.
The Orange and Brown finished the meet with a 192.950, which landed them in second place. The Falcons have now finished second in back-to-back meets, including the Western Michigan Quad Meet, where they lost to WMU.
Southeast Missouri State University soared to victory in their own home competition, with Simpson College and Fisk University rounding out the meet in third and fourth, respectively.
Falcon junior Keria Thornton was one of three gymnasts to compete in all four events. She scored an all-around score of 38.825, being the first BGSU gymnast to compete in all four events in a single meet this season.
Thornton finished second in the all-around behind RedHawks senior Taylor Ingle, who finished with a 39.150.
Ingle took first place in three of the four events, with junior teammate Leah Parton scoring an event-high 9.850 on beam, giving Southeast Missouri State University event highs in every event. This positioned the RedHawks for a total of 194.850.
The Falcons have a speedy turnaround, with the Bowling Green Tri-Meet being hosted at the Stroh Center on Sunday to start a three-meet home stretch for the Orange and Brown.
